A Study of Role Orientation of Teachers in Primary and Junior High School

我國國民中小學為國民教育階段,國民中小學教師為教育的基層推動者,其角色取向必將影響教學的品質、學校的組織氣氛及教育功能的發揮。國民中小學教師為薪給專業人員(salariedprofessional),居於組織的受雇人員與專業人員的雙重角色中,到底作何取向,教師個人因素諸如教育程度、任教年資、任教科等等是否影響其角色取向,及此二角色取向是否衝突,實在值得探討,以作為師資培育與教育行政當局的參考。因此本研究欲達成以下四種具體目的:(一)比較我國國民中小學教師之角色取向。(二)分析影響我國國民中小學角色取向之個人因素。(三)探討我國國民中小學教師角色衝突的實況。(四)根據研究結果,作成建議,以供師資培育及教育行政當局之參考。

Owing to the bureaucratization of school organization and professionalization of educational work, the teacher plays the roles of both an employee and a professional. So teachers share with other employeed professionals in the setting of the necessity of either choosing between the two roles or compromising them. The outcome of this choice is one of the most vital questions the modern school teachers must face. This study is to present an investigation and analysis of the role orientation of Chinese primary and junior high school teachers.
The procedures of this study include the review of relevant literature and a questionnaire survey. The Teacher's Role Orientation Questionnaire is made up of the professional role orientation scale including four subscales:
