A Study of Hegel's Preface to the Phenomenology of Mind

黑格爾自一七八八年至一七九三年在杜賓根大學攻讀哲學與神學之後,先在瑞士貝恩(Bern)當了三年,後來在德國富蘭克福特(Frankfurt a. Main)當了四年的家庭教師。在一八0一年黑格爾到當時有名的哲學思想中心耶那 (Jena)大學研讀哲學,並於同年完成論文獲致「大學教師資格」,而擔任該校的「講師」。與菲希特(Fichte)、謝林(Schelling)等不同,黑格爾可說是大器晚成型的思想家。在當家庭教師時期,黑格爾一直默默耕耘埋頭研究歷史、神學與政治等。在耶那當講師時期,也即自一八0一年至一八0八年,黑格爾在過去的研究基礎上加上新的研究心得,逐步發展獨自的哲學思想,終於在一八0七年發表「精神現象學」,以表示與?不同的偉大哲學體系。一八0一年,黑格爾的第一篇哲學論文「菲希特與謝林思想之差異」支持謝林而反對菲希特的主觀觀念論。但不久黑格爾也對抗謝林而表明自己的思想。黑格爾對謝林的攻擊充分顯示於「精神現象學」中。

This article is primarily an exposition of Hegel's Preface to the Phenomenology of Mind in which the main train of thought of Hegel is compressed. After an introduction to the development of Hegel's thought the place of Phenomenology of Mind in the whole system is explained and the role of the Preface as a connection between Phenomenology and Logik is discussed.
