國語文是國家所制訂的語言與文字,而為全國國民所通用的。就個人言,人不能離群索居,因此,人與人之交往,首需藉語言文字作為溝通之媒介,並藉此以擴增生活的領域,且豐富生活。就國家言,語言與文字為國家統一之根本要件,藉國語文可激發愛國思想,增?國力。就民族言,語言與文字為民族形成的要素,有了共同的語言與文字,才能具有共同的民族意識,促進民族團結,宏揚民族文化。本研究乃在調查分析國民小學國語文教學之續效,洞察問題癥結之所在,並進而尋求改進之途徑。具體而言,本研究有下列三個目的:第一:編製「國民小學國語文基本能力測驗」,俾予推廣使用,作為客觀評量國民小學學生國語文能力之工具。第二:評量國民小學學生國語文的基本能力,並依不同性別、地區與學校類別加以分析,以發現其高能力差異的情形。第三:瞭解國民小學國語文教學問題及其困難,並據以探討改進之途徑。
英文摘要
The main purpose of this study was to present an investigative analysis of the result of Mandarin teaching(including reading, speech composition and writing)of primary schools in the Republic of China.
In this study, three instruments were devised by the writer, namely, Mandarin Basic Ability Testing or primary schools, Questionnaire On Mandarin Teaching Problems, Questionnaire on Improving Mandarin Teaching Opinions. These instruments were used to examine(1)pupil's basic abilities of listening, speaking, reading, and writing;(2)the difficulties and problems of mandarin teaching in primary school;(3)the opinions for improving mandarin teaching.
The following are the major findings and recommendations.
(1)To enhance the pupil's mandarin ability, especially pay attention to the balance development of pupil's abilities.
(2)To strengthen the study teaching of contents and style in the subject of reading.
(3)To select the whole teaching materials in the subject of speech.
(4)To effectively direct the methods of composition.
(5)To construct a model style for teaching writing and unify used style of ordinary words.
(6)To guide the pupils to select what is good readings.
(7)To upgrade the qualitative level of teachers in the field of mandarin teaching.
(8)To increase the facilities of primary schools in order to effectively aided mandarin teaching.
